A former actor and arts professional, Duncan Keegan is a communications professional and speechwriter who has crafted speeches for two Presidents of Ireland, three Taoisigh (Irish prime ministers) and a number of Irish government ministers. In 2023, he experienced the devastating personal loss of his son Ruairí, which transformed his perspective on life, language and grief. He frequently turns to the artistic, cultural and spiritual depths of Irish tradition and language to explore and restore our sense of shared humanity, creativity, resilience and common purpose.
Keegan was featured on “Thanks for Being Here,” a weekly segment of the podcast Kelly Corrigan Wonders and was a speaker at TED2025 Humanity Reimagined. He is the creator of the Irish language micro-course "The Primer" and is apprenticing as an end-of-life doula in his local community in north Dublin.
